Second semester reflections

This semester has been so tiresome, it is so short, and I had to do and I have to do a lot of things in all my subjects. During the firts semester I was so excited for all works that I did, and the new techniques that I learned, because was so new for me, I had never done anything like that. Shibori in central workshop, work with metal in goldsmithing's workshop. But in this semester I am tired, because we have less time to do all the in charges for all the subjects, for the “paro” in the last semester.

I think about this semester was and is difficult to me, especially for me times, because I don't have time for my family or my friends, or for me, to watch tv, or see a movie, or to shave me, because in this moment all my time I have intended to work in the works of the university, nothing more, I want to rest. In fact, when I work in my home I always look the sofa, and my back is melted by it.

All the semester I wanted to finish this semester, to really relax my mind and not be worried of the university, and only worry about me and go out with people, and sleeeeeeeeeep a whole week.

I have not reflections, but  I am exhausted.

Arts and I

When I was in the school I really liked mathematics, I even thought about studying degree in mathematics, but I lived the 2011, that year was important to this decision, because I learned a lot about me, what I want, what I am, what I need... also I met the most important friends that I have, I grew up so much, but I think I need more yet. That year I decided study Plastic Art, because is the college career that suits me more, for the things that I have to do, or developed, it is a challenge to me, and that characteristic is fundamental, or this turns to something monotonous and bored.

I decided for textil arts, because is the speciality that I love. I'm in a workshop with other classmates I'm in the third year of the career, but in the second year of the speciality. In the first year I learned different techniques and concepts of the materials. In the first semester we learned about the communication with textiles, or any textile material, that represents concepts and ideas. In that semester we intervene different fibers, fabrics and plastics.

In the second half we develop the unit of to weave on loom. We learned traditional tapestry and experimental tapestry. This year we learned Shibori, that is a traditional Japanese technique that consist in dyed reservation.

In textile arts are different and interesting techniques that most of the people don’t know.

I don't have a ultimate idea for my future, but I know I will continue with the textile art and goldsmith, like an artist or craftswoman.

How green are you?

I think the green thing is so important for all of us, I mean the people of all world.

In my home, my mother is a crazy for the three “R” (reduce, reuse and recycle) It's a lifestyle, because in the beginning, 7 years ago , I remember my mom daring me, because I bounced a wrap on any stock, and now I daring to anyone for the same thing. I'm so used to recycle almost everything recyclable, it breaks my heart throw anything away.

In my house we have a compost, for the organic waste. For the dog poop, I found in Internet a way to make this poop in dust, not for orchard or any plant, but this material doesn't make in garbage, only dust.

We try to reduce the more possible, I think, but I don't know If we succeed with this point, it's the more difficult point to achieve. But re-using, I think we got it, 1 year ago my dad piked up a mirror for our new bath, and it was perfect. And with the clothes is the same. And the last is … I keep anything that I could need in the future, but it's like a Diogenes bad.

I think is so easy to make this littles things to reduce waste, it's just an habit, not difficult, just be less individualistic..

A movie that I like and a movie that I hate.

I will talk about two things, a movie that I like and a movie that I hate. First, I will say that I love animated movies, because I laught a lot, and I can see this movies in any moment, no matter if I'm happy or sad, it's funny always for me. One of my favorites of this genre is The Emperor's New Groove, Is so fun, I really die laughing with it. My favorite character is Isma, the antagonist of the movie, she and her assistant are the movie for me, without them the history would be bored. You have to watch this movie. I dream no remember anything about the movie, to see the film like the first time.

And the kind of movies that I hate is the terror movies, not because I'm scared, because is bored for me, all of them, the most terrible and ridiculous are the movies like... Jason I, Jason II Jason III … until Jason X or versus Depredador. How many people can work on making films so bad? And many times?, I don't understand.

A day I will remember

A day that I will remember for ever was this year. In my home, we live with three dogs now, their names are Mia, Mora and Frodo. Mia lives with us since she was 2 years old. She lived in the street and ate garbage, had hairless tail, because she had mange and ringworm. My mom and me take her to my house, and we feed her and love hor so much. Now Mia is 11 years old and live with us. She never had been a mom, but one day of June she dessapeared, and my mom looked for her. After a while my mom saw  Mia in Frodo’s house, this was so weird, because she never uses that house. She was with wet feet, looking my mom with scare face, and with her a little black bulk.

There was she, Mora, the baby of my house. She is a miracle, no one expected her arrival.

 She was born with one white foot. The first month she cry a lot, for anything.

Today she is 5 month old, and play all the day with her little ball that sounds a beep irritant, sometimes makes me crazy, but doesn´t matter what she does, because I love her so much, is so pretty.

A song that a special meaning

Hello ! :D today I will talk to you about a song that is special for me... that song is really bad, so bad, I know, but is very sticky. That song is “Bang, bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicky Minaj. These three singers are from the pop world, all of them are stars in their countries.

This song is so special for me because in the last summer I have a spectacular vacation with my little cousins in La Serena,we went to the beach, and to the country. One of them have a Wii, he carried the Wii and several games, my favorite was “JUST DANCE”, it's a dance play, of course, and we play all days and several times a day. Other times we played Mario Kart too.

This song was the most fun to play, because there were four players involved. One time, we were dancing-playing “bang, bang” and the most little of my cousins farted loudly in the middle of the song, then we laughed a lot, and he kept dancing and got the high score.

In the future...

I in the future, I don't know nothing, but in my mind, only dreaming, I would like to travel a lot, for so many places, to know new cultures, to see different landscapes, to eat every original food of each place I visit, and of course, someone is paying me for all of this. But this future is my big fantasy, because is impossible, only if my dad or my mom win the Kino or Loto, if that doesn't happen I have no chance, and I think it won't happen.

Talking seriously, I would like to work in something about textil area or gold-smithing, but I know I have to work in anything before finding the perfect job for me, but I will search a lot for that tranquility.

And the most important, I would like to live with me doing what I like, weaving, eating, traveling, seeing the people, like my friend, my family and party with all of them.

I admire...

In Textile Arts, one of my favorites areas is the costume, in this area I admire Iris Van Herper, because is the best designer who works with art pieces. Her designs are surreal, because they work with materials which represent other, like water, smoke, etc.

The essence of van Herpen is expressing the character and emotions of a woman and to extend the shape of the feminine body in detail. She mixes craftsmanship- using old and forgotten techniques with innovation and materials inspired on the world to come.

She said this:

“For me fashion is an expression of art that is very close related to me and to my body.

I see it as my expression of identity combined with desire, moods and cultural setting.”

Her designs require every time and unique treatment of material or even the creation of complete new materials. For this reason, Van Herpen prefers interdisciplinary research and often collaborates with other artists or scientists.

In all her work she try to make clear that fashion is an artistic expression, showing and wearing art, and not just a functional and devoid of content or commercial tool.

My best holidays ...

For me, my holidays begin when I finished the last university exam, after that I could do anything I want. The best of my holidays was in summer, in 2014. I travel to La Serena with my boyfriend and my parents, for visit to friends. They live in a plot, which it has a awesome view of the foot of the hills.

We stayed a week in her house, but after that my boyfriend and me travel to valle del elqui and we camping near the river, we saw the moon, was so romantic!!!!!!, our first travel .

 Later we return to Santiago, because I had to travel with aaaaaaaaall my family to Brazil, for the marriage of my cousin in Curitiba. We were 18 chilians in the party, it was so awesome, first, all the girls went to the hairdresser, we were 9, we fill the hairdresser. 

  The party (I say again) was AWESOME. My cousin danced cueca after the waltz, and then a batucada entered with ten samba dancers!!! It was amazing.

  

At the next day all of us went to the beach, a week in Camboriu, all in one house, like a reality show. But we had fun :) 

This was my best holidays because I saw people that I missed a lot,enjoy the beach, travel with my boyfriend, I lived a '' real'' reality show with all my family, and I saw beautiful landscapes. I did a lot!!

A country I would like to visit.

The country I would like to visit is in Asia, truly I would like to know the whole word and to see everything, but it's a difficult idea, for the time that I have, but the country I would love to go is Thailand, because it's very famous for it's beaches, the pictures that I saw were awesome, and made me dream with this travel.

 

In this imaginary journey, i would like to go to the beach, of course, I would buy something in the floating market, I would dive in the ocean and to see fishes and other animals, I would know the temples, I would rove the cities and eat in the street markets or traditional restaurants, but to enjoy local food.

I would do this travel with my friends, because I laugh a lot with them, and we have “the chemistry”.

Hi, my name is Dhara Linsambarth Villalon. I am 21 years old, I was born in Santiago Centro, the 26th of August  of 1993. I have lived in La Florida, all of my life. I haven't a brother or sister. I live with my parents, but they were separated for ten years, three years ago they were in love again. I grew up with my grandmother in her house, after school I went there, she live with my grandfather, my aunt and her son, my cousin Matias. He is 13 years old. Six years ago I hated my cousin, but now, I love him too much.

My father is an engineer, and he works in the "Subtel". When I was a very little girl, he said to me “ Dhara, you should study the same that I, because it's a very beautiful career” and I said NO.

My mother works in animation production. When I was ten years old, my mom invited me to go to her job, and I looked everything, and asked to much to all of the people in there.

I studied the primary in Raices Altazor, this school is in La Florida, near to my house. The high school I studied in Liceo Tajamar, in Providencia, too far from my house, and now I am student of Arts in Universidad de Chile.

My hobbies are three or more, i think, first, go to see my friends, to laugh a lot with them. Second, be with my family in my free times. And others, see movies, listen to music and play with my dogs.
